NAM Progress Pics

I just wanted to post some pictures of the progress that the NAM made over the last 4.5 months before surgery. This makes all the trips to NY worth it! It's amazing. I have 2 collages below. The top rows are pictures taken at his first NYU appointment before the device when Elijah was 2.5 weeks old. The bottom rows are pictures taken at his last NYU appointment about two weeks ago.

Dr. Flores, our plastic surgeon, told us that the work they did at NYU made his job so much easier. I would do it all over again even though it was one of the hardest things I have done in some regards. I remember at my first visit thinking, "How in the world am I going to do this for the next 4.5 months?' and now I look back at the amazing results and think that on this side of things, the time passed quickly. I definitely don't think it was easy. God provided us the strength and way to do it. I am thankful for that. I'm thankful for the NYU team and the MyFace Foundation. I'm thankful that our local plastic surgeon was not only supportive of our NAM efforts, but also knew the NYU team well since he trained there. I am thankful for everyone who went to NY with me as my travel helper, and everyone who offered but couldn't go due to weather or logistics. If anyone you know finds out their baby has cleft lip and palate, feel free to put them in contact with me. I didn't know about NAM and may not have found out about it if Shanda hadn't sent me the blog of another mom whose son had cleft lip and palate.

Please keep praying for the recovery phase. I'm sure I will post more about Elijah's progress over the next three weeks. Thanks for all the prayers and love you guys have shown us!
