Every room in our house looks like this right now. Seemingly complete chaos.
Ok so some of you know that our house often looks a tad chaotic. But this is much more so. And it's stressing me out some (a ton). It feels messy, unorganized, cluttered, busy, confusing.
There is a big difference though. This chaos is actually quite organized and planned. Yes, it's messy and busy, but there is rhyme and reason to it. It is intentional. And it reminded me of how often our lives feel. Chaotic. Unplanned. Out of control. Busy. Confusing. Anxiety-provoking.
But our lives, in the much deeper reality, are quite planned and intentional. Yes, there is legitimacy to the stress, confusion, and clutter we feel. But there is a reality that order. Even when we can only feel disorder.
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:”
Ecclesiastes 3:1
I'm thankful this morning that there is One who not only knows every twist and turn of my life, but who planned and organized each path, trial, journey so that I would be led to him. I hope today in the midst of your chaos and confusion, you will feel the deeper reality that there is more to it than what we see.
As mentioned, we would love your prayers for us. Here are some specifics:
* First and foremost, that in every detail of this trip, we would be led more to Christ
* That we would humbly serve and have absolutely no sense of self-righteousness
* That we would adjust well culturally, including re-learning and new learning Swahili
* That we would find community and home so far away
* That God would give us many opportunities to share him in word and deed, and not one without the other
* That we would have completely safe and smooth travels, with ease going through customs
* For safety and health through the entirety of the trip
* For Elijah to travel well and adjust to the time difference quickly
And we will leave you with that for now...stay tuned for more adventures.
