From here on out I probably won't dedicate a whole posting per trip because as Dr. Olson likes to say, we are on cruise control from here on out. In other words, they aren't adding anything new to Elijah's plate, but rather just making minor adjustments each visit to make sure it is still pushing and molding as it's supposed to. In fact, he mentioned we may be able to eventually skip every other week.
On Dec 18, we got to go with our good friend Shanda (pronounced like the first part of chandelier). That's how she introduces herself :) We go to church with her, used to be in a weekly community group with her, live across the street from her, and went to Haiti with her last year.
She is great with Elijah and has been an amazing help by organizing meals and dog sitters since Elijah's birth. She is also just a truly great friend and I love our long talks about life, relationships, and God.
Of note on out trip:
Elijah wore an awesome hat my mom got him:
Elijah did the best he's probably ever done traveling on one of these NY trips.
And, we had awesome Turkish food for lunch.
Seriously? Anyway, it was another successful trip. Thanks "Shane-da" (how one of our friend's kids pronounces her name).
The next week we went with my mother-in-law went with us again. It was overall another good trip minus a really intense screaming fit while boarding the plane in Laguardia to fly back. It lasted about the first 20 min on the plane I think, but he eventually passed out. Here are some highlights/pics:
We had lunch at this delicious restaurant called Smac. All they serve is Mac n' Cheese. It was delicious. Delicious. I can't stop thinking about my skillet of Mac n Cheese with Brie, portabellas, rosemary, and figs. Delicious.
We ate healthy that trip :) We walked over close to the Empire State Building so that Grandma Evans could take some pictures. I took a picture of her taking pictures!
Elijah was mostly in a good mood, and I caught this sweet face on camera.
