Out of Touch for a Week

Starting tomorrow (Thurs) morning at 8am, essentially the whole country of Tanzania will be without power for a week during the hours of 8am-11pm until May 26 (next Wed). Sweet! (sarcastic)

You might be wondering, "Why would the whole country be without power during this time?" Great question! Apparently, almost the whole country is on the same power grid, and they need to do inspections. Doesn't make a ton of sense to me, but whatever. If you are ever going to visit or live in Tanzania, you must learn to roll with the punches or you will be miserable. Here's an article about the power cuts if you are interested: http://allafrica.com/stories/201105090340.html

We've also heard that we might not have much running water during this time because it takes electricity to get the water to our house. We've been boiling extra water and need to fill up some big buckets that we have in case we do run out of water.

Family, do not worry about us if you do not hear from us for a week. All is well :) We are rolling with the punches.
